【摘要】:Splittingtensilestrengthisgenerallygreaterthandirecttensilestrengthandlowerthanflexuralstrength(modulusofrupture).Splittingtensilestrengthisusedinthedesignofstructurallightweightconcretememberstoevaluatetheshearresistanceprovidedbyconcreteandtodeterminethedevelopmentlengthofreinforcement.1.1Thistestmethodcoversthedeterminationofthesplittingtensilestrengthofcylindricalconcretespecimens,suchasmoldedcylindersanddrilledcores.1.2Thevaluesstatedineitherinch-poundorSIunitsaretoberegardedseparatelyasstandard.TheSIunitsareshowninbrackets.Thevaluesstatedineachsystemmaynotbeexactequivalents;therefore,eachsystemshallbeusedindependentlyoftheother.Combiningvaluesfromthetwosystemsmayresultinnonconformancewiththestandard.1.3Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.1.4Thetextofthisstandardreferencesnotesthatprovideexplanatorymaterial.Thesenotesshallnotbeconsideredasrequirementsofthestandard.
